August in Kentucky

This picture was from Chad and I’s “hike” out at the nature reserve in Radcliff, KY. It was a hot 92*F out… we forgot to bring water, so I just dipped my hands in the waterfall to bring down my temperature. My legs are sore today from all the stairs we had to climb up and down, but, I loved it.

It is day two in August, living in Kentucky. Yesterday, my husband and I went to see our landlord, whom we’ve been tenants for, for a year now, and she informed us of all the “wonderful” weather we will be having. As I listened to her talk about how muggy and hot it will be this year, I couldn’t help but think of all the times I’d be outside taking pictures. Our landlord said that last year was out-of-the-ordinary and much colder than they have had (even though they had an ice-storm the previous winter which wiped out Otter Creek, an amazing outdoor adventure less than a mile from us). She said this year has been hotter than the last two together!

I guess creativity and innovation will have to be my motivation to take all these pictures… It never hurts to bring a frozen mocha along either, right? In case anyone was wondering, Bear Claw Coffee makes an awesome frozen mocha!

Keep in mind that you should dress comfortably for the weather! Check this out. πŸ™‚
