My Wedding Shoes

All day, I couldn’t help but think about black and white digital developing thanks to my husband…
Last night, after dinner, he asked me if it was ok if he told me what part 1 of 3 of my birthday gift is going to be (of course, upon my approval, hence the question). I was giddy, the surprise effect, yes, was still there. My birthday is in 7 days, I’ll be 26, and will have been doing photography for ten years. He asked me if I liked the idea of a studio set… I said YES! He just wanted to make sure I didn’t want to send it back after it got here…
So, because of all the thoughts of black and white photography, I’ve decided to digitally develop a few today and share them with you. I wanted something that was meaningful to me. And intense. These shoes are the shoes I was married in. It was a casual marriage, and yes, I still wore white even though there was no ceremony or reception. We had one guest, a co-worker of mine, turned best-friend, whom took our only wedding pictures (and then both of our computers crashed in Afghanistan and we lost them all, except one).
After the reception, we went out for sushi dinner, our friends from work (a.k.a. all of our buddies with us in the Army) met up with us and we celebrated with drinks, and more drinks. Sushi happened to be our first date, our wedding dinner date, and continues to be one of our favorite dates still.
